Rarely. Tavistock is one of the smallest towns in New Jersey, with 9 residents in the 2020 Census and about a quarter square mile of land, most of it Tavistock Country Club. Homes here almost never come up for sale. Our Bright MLS records back to 2015 show no sales listed under Tavistock.
Tavistock has no schools of its own. Its students attend the Haddonfield School District (pre-K through 12th grade) under a sending/receiving agreement.
Test scores, enrollment, class sizes and programs for each district are in the state’s School Performance Reports (NJ Department of Education, 2023-24):
In 2025, the average residential property tax bill in Tavistock, across just 3 homes, was $38,393, above the Camden County average of $7,766.
Tavistock assesses homes at about 99% of market value, so its 1.454% tax rate works out to an effective rate of 1.445% of what a home is worth. The actual bill depends on the home’s assessed value.

Tavistock became a borough in 1921, carved out of the former Centre Township, so members of what became Tavistock Country Club could play golf on Sundays. A local blue law barred Sunday sports at the time. Today the borough is mostly the golf course plus a handful of homes, with three commissioners running it under the Walsh Act form of government.
Tavistock borders Haddonfield, Barrington and Lawnside and shares Haddonfield’s 08033 ZIP code. If you like the location, the nearby towns below are where homes actually come up for sale.
